great hike in Capitol Reef NP to natural wonder

Hickman Bridge Trip

Hickman Bridge

The Hickman Bridge is purportedly a little over a mile from the trailhead, but it's a hard mile. Most of the trail is uphill, much of it up stairs that have been placed to aid in the climb. Part of it is also over slick rock.
At the end, you will find a magnificent natural Arch, absolutely huge.

At the trail marker #12 there is the remains of a small granary hidden away beneath the overhang on the north side of the trail. If you look closely at the surface to the right above the granary you can see some faint red painted hands pictographs.
